tecBench

tecBench combines two benchmarks under one graphic interface:

• tecHD for evaluating hard disks and drives technically similarly integrated in the OS (for example DVD-RAM drives in particular operating modi)

• tecCD for evaluating CD-ROM and DVD drives and similarly integrated drives (for example floppy disk or DVD-RAM drives in particular operating modi).

tecHD as well as tecCD measures data transfer rates achieved while reading sequentially from a given media and access times observable while accessing a series of pseudo-randomly chosen sectors of a given medium.
