Die dominierende CPU innerhalb der Intel-Familie ist der "Pentium 4": Er ist in knapp der Hälfte aller stationären Computer zu finden. Die AMD-Fraktion kommt zusammen auf etwa 23 Prozent, Apple-Prozessoren auf knapp sechs Prozent.
Noch deutlicher ist Intels Vorherrschaft bei den Notebook-Prozessoren, wo 83 Prozent mit einem Pentium M, Celeron M, Core Duo oder Pentium 4 arbeiten.
