Der Anti-Viren-Herseller AVG weitet seine Produktpalette aus. Künftig können auch kleinere Unternehmen eine kostenlose Lizenz erhalten, die Anti-Virus Free: Small Business Edition soll bis zu fünf Rechner absichern.
Kostenlose Anti-Virenscanner für Privatpersonen gibt es einige, Unternehmen müssen in der Regel für Schutzprogramme zahlen. Diese Regel will der Hersteller AVG nun aufweichen. Ab sofort steht Anti-Virus Free: Small Business Edition zum kostenlosen Download bereit. Die Software schützt bis zu fünf PCs vor Vireninfektionen, Spyware und gegen Bedrohungen aus dem Web.

Es fehlen allerdings Funktionen wie eine Desktop-Firewall, Schutz vor Phishing, eine Verwaltungskonsole oder auch der Support. AVG will mit seiner kostenlosen Small Business Edition vor allem Kleinst- und Kleinunternehmen ansprechen, die wenige Arbeitsplätze gegen Viren sichern möchten und keine größeren Pakete benötigen.
