Outlook.com kann jetzt auch IMAP
Nach Angaben von Microsoft steht IMAP ab sofort für alle Outlook.com-Nutzer zur Verfügung. Die Einführung des Synchronisationsprotokoll erfolgt weltweit. Damit unterstützt Microsoft mit Outlook.com nun folgende Protokolle: EAS, IMAP, SMTP und POP. Damit können Anwender nun Geräte und Clients anbinden, die kein Exchange ActiveSync unterstützen.
Folgende Einstellungen müssen im E-Mail-Client für den Zugriff auf Outlook.com per IMAP vorgenommen werden:
Incoming (IMAP) Server
Server address: imap-mail.outlook.com
Port: 993
Encrypted Connection: SSL
und
Outgoing (SMTP) Server
Server address: smtp-mail.outlook.com
Port: 25 (or 587 if 25 is blocked)
Authentication: Yes
Encrypted Connection: TLS
User name: Your email address
Password: Your password
