Sony und CA: Backup-System für Notebooks

Sony und das Software-Unternehmen Computer Associates (CA) bringen im Oktober gemeinsam ein Backup-System für Notebooks namens StorStation Laptop Data Protection auf den Markt. Die Lösung soll 10.000 US-Dollar kosten.

Das Produkt vereint Sonys 720 GB StorStation FSV-M5-Server mit CAs Mobile Backup Software. Die StorStation Laptop Data Protection startet automatisch, wenn sich ein Mitarbeiter via Notebook mit dem Firmennetz verbindet. Das System stellt nach dem Aufbau der TCP/IP-Verbindung fest, ob ein Backup notwendig ist und speichert die Daten auf dem FSV-M5-Server. Laut Sony und CA ist die Backup-Lösung auch für das Sichern von Daten via Remote Control auf entfernten Rechnern geeignet. (Jürgen Mauerer)
